FACILITY TO INJECT SOLID SPECIMENS INTO GAS CHROMATOGRAPH Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: chromatographic analysis of substances. SUBSTANCE: facility is meant for injection of solid specimens into separation columns of gas chromatographs. It includes metal cylindrical body and pipe union for connection with evaporator of chromatograph located at end of body, shut-off mechanism coming in the form of piston made of elastic material confined in radial conduit and mechanism of specimen transportation manufactured in the form of cylindrical case joined uniaxially to same end of body through elastic sealing element. Rod mounted for reciprocating motion is placed inside case, separable container carrying specimen is linked to it uniaxially. Diameter of radial conduit exceeds diameter of hole in case through which container with specimen travels into evaporator. Length of piston exceeds diameter of hole in case. Holes in body and case are fitted with sealing elements. EFFECT: simplified design and enhanced operational reliability of facility. 5 dwg
