FIELD: determination of direction to source of electromagnetic radiation. SUBSTANCE: portable radio direction finder has case in the form of pistol with handle housing power supply source, directional antenna, connector put on frontal part of case, low-frequency amplifier connected to loudspeaker and compass. Direction finder also incorporates discretely adjustable attenuator, wide-band high-frequency amplifier, frequency meter and visual indication unit. Directional antenna comes in the form of separable element placed outside of case. Discretely adjustable attenuator, smoothly adjustable attenuator and wide-band high-frequency amplifier to which power supply source is connected are positioned in case and are connected in series. Separable element of antenna is connected through connector mounted on frontal part of case to input of discretely adjustable attenuator. Output of wide-band high-frequency amplifier is connected through additional connector to input of automatically tunes digital tuner which outputs are connected through low-frequency amplifier and frequency meter to inputs of visual indication unit. Compass is anchored on rear part of case with use of swing bracket. EFFECT: development of light, reliable and handy portable radio direction finder. 5 cl, 7 dwg
