FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly hot die forging. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of upsetting initial blank prepared of rod; then forming semifinished product; at forming semifinished product pressing out rod and preliminarily forming flange with dimensions in plan view consisting 0.9 - 1.0 of respective dimensions in plan view of ready forging; performing final forging at displacing metal to fin by angle 5 - 85 degrees relative to vertical axis of forging. Upsetting of initial blank may be realized with use of inserts having shaped contact surface or in radially moving ring. Semifinished product is forged by one, two or three transitions. Depending upon destination of forging it is possible to use hollow or solid pressed out rod. EFFECT: lowered metal consumption. 8 cl, 4 dwg, 1 ex
