FIELD: metallurgy and chemistry; electrolytic reduction of aluminum from aqueous solutions. SUBSTANCE: aluminum is produced by electrolysis of aqueous aluminum sulfate solution; used as anodes are insoluble oxido- ruthenium electrodes and electrodes made from fibrous carbon-graphite material are used as cathode; soluble depassivating additives are introduced into aqueous aluminum sulfate solution, for example, sodium or potassium chlorides. Aqueous aluminum sulfate solution with soluble depassivating additives is made by treatment with sulfuric acid of aluminum-containing slag of aluminum production process. EFFECT: low cost; facilitated technological procedure. 3 cl, 1 dwg
