METHOD OF HARVESTING CEREAL CROPS, GRAIN HARVESTING UNIT AND THRESHING FLOOR Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting cereal crops by means of horizontal and side cutter bars of grain harvesting unit, which are inclined with respect to vertical plane; loading cut cereals into cart with ears oriented to one side until cart is completely filled; transporting cart to threshing floor; drying cereals in drying unit and threshing by means of self-propelled threshing unit. Vehicle of grain harvesting unit is made in the form of self-propelled chassis carrying pan, cutter bar, and finger-type conveyor. Pan is made in the form of frame and is spring-loaded with single- arm lever. Cart for collecting cut cereal crop is fixed by means of cable at pan end rear part. Grain harvesting unit has control unit composed of two parts. Each part of control unit is mounted at associated side of operator's seat. Threshing floor is formed in corner part of ground for collecting cut cereal crop and is equipped with drying unit and threshing unit. Threshing floor has film floor and film covering fixed by means of tubular poles driven into ground. Poles are arranged in rows with spacing being equal to half the length of cart and distance between pole rows being equal to cart width.
