METHOD OF MEASUREMENT OF DRILL-HOLE PATH PARAMETERS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: drilling equipment, particularly, means for monitoring of bottomhole parameters in hole drilling and research. SUBSTANCE: method is based on measurement by three mutually perpendicular axes, one of which serves simultaneously as axis of drill-hole and drilling tool, by transducers of source information of intensity vector of Earth magnetic field and vector of free fall acceleration in place of installation of measuring system relative to coordinate system and calculation by these measurements of parameters of drill-hole path. In so doing, measurements of vector of Earth magnetic field intensity and vector of free fall acceleration are carried out in three arbitrary positions of drilling tool in its rotation round longitudinal axis, and by algorithm in form of mathematical expression, vector of Earth magnetic field intensity and vector of free fall acceleration are determined with correction of errors occurring under real conditions of measurement of drill-hole path parameters.
