FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: automatic apparatus for regulating linear density of sliver has sliver guide, drawing device, unit for determining fibrous material thickness, and control unit, with all mentioned parts of apparatus being connected in succession. Control unit is connected through damping member to control drawing device input. Drawing device has receiving and discharge pairs of driving cylinders and driven pressure rolls. Cylinder and roll are made toothed. Drawing device is additionally provided with kinematic friction member positioned between rolls of receiving and discharge pair. Driven roll is made detachable. Teeth of cylinder and detachable roll of receiving pair are made straight. Angle of slot between detachable roll teeth is 40-45 deg and angle of slot between cylinder teeth is 44.8-45 deg. Cylinder and roll of receiving pair have diameter ratio of 1:(0.8-1.0). Apparatus may be used in automatic units for equalizing sliver thickness with the use of mechanical devices, which regulate drawing extent.
