FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in mechanisms designed for steplessly changing the torque. Proposed variable-speed drive has housing, equal truncated cones, idler wheel and screw mechanism for translation of idler wheel. Teeth of alternating width and equal depth in cone length are cut on cones. Idler wheel is toothed, sectional and is provided with possibility of changing the pitch at one revolution. Idler wheel body consists of two halves brought together by screws. Outer holder rotates inside body. Teeth are fastened on inner holder by means of cylindrical joints and are arranged in holes of guides of outer holder for translation. Axis of idler wheel is parallel to axes of rotation of inner and outer holders. EFFECT: improved kinematic accuracy of transmitted rotation and provision of stable torque. 2 dwg
