FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: naphthenic acids, heavy metals, and sulfur are removed from oil feedstock by performing following operations: (i) treating initial oil feedstock containing organic acids, heavy metals, and sulfur with ethoxylated amine and water under conditions, over a period of time, and at temperature appropriate to form water-in-oil emulsion of amine salt, said amine having general formula: (I), where m= 1-10, and R C1-C6-hydrocarbon residue; (ii) isolating layer containing treated oil feedstock with decreased content of organic acids, heavy metals, and sulfur, and layers containing water and ethoxylated amine salt. EFFECT: lowered level of naphthenic acids by value up to 95%, heavy metals, especially vanadium and nickel, up to 20%, and sulfur up to 17%. 11 cl, 3 dwg, 6 ex
