CLAMP FOR SECURING ARTICLES Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering and instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed clamp has body and handle. Body has U-shaped slot and cavity whose axis is perpendicular to longitudinal axis of symmetry of U-shaped slot. Latch secured in cavity is used for securing the article in U-shaped slot; mounted in its inner cavity are spring, slide block and screw. Side wall of said latch has through slot whose axis is parallel to axis of latch. Clamp body is also provided with through slot whose axis is parallel to axis of body cavity; pin fitted in through slots of latch and body is rigidly secured in slide block. Threaded hole made along axis of slide block is used for receiving one end screw whose other end holds handle. Screw is provided with limiter performing translational motion; free end of latch is provided with three bevels which are inclined relative to longitudinal axis of latch at angles α₁, α₂, α₃. Bevel made at angle α₁ is located on side of inlet of U-shaped slot and bevels made at angles α₂, α₃ are located on side of blind end of U-shaped slot ; f<α₁<π/2, 0<α₂<arctgf, 0<α₃<π/2, where f is coefficient of friction of latch bevels over surface of article being clamped; inlet walls of U-shaped slot have centering bevels oriented to axis of symmetry of clamp cavity at angle s α₄, α₅, where f′<α₄<π/2, arctgf′<α₅<π/2, where f′-; f is coefficient of friction of centering bevels of U-shaped slot over surface of article being clamped.
