FIELD: automation; computer engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes shaping of sine- and cosine-wave quadrature ac voltages that are feeding phase shifter. Method includes applying sine- and cosine-wave voltages to backup circuit with reference signal shaped across its output, applying quadrature voltages from signal phase shifter output to backup circuit with data signal shaped across its output; phase between ac components of reference and data signals is proportional to input action on phase shifter. EFFECT: phase value and variation during disconnection of one of signals and phase change between ac components off reference and data signals remains same as in absence of these signals; enhanced reliability of phase shifter backup. 6 cl, 3 dwg
