FIELD: power engineering; alternative sources for no-break power supply to users. SUBSTANCE: method for no-break power supply to users from power systems operating on unsteady renewable energy sources, such as windmill-electric, hydroelectric, photoelectric, and other similar power plants includes conversion of renewable source energy into ac power with aid of ac generator, ac-to-dc power conversion with aid of rectifier, power supply voltage regulation, dc power storage in storage device, and power supply to load; in addition, provision is made to change storage device voltage into adjustable dc voltage by means of pulse-width changer whose output is electrically isolated and to add this voltage by means of voltage boosting to output voltage of rectifier by series connection of converter and rectifier output circuits, pulse-width changer being controlled to maintain voltage across voltage regulator input higher than desired value. In addition alternative process is proposed for power system incorporating more than one renewable energy source and sources of different kinds in particular. EFFECT: enlarged range of available renewable energy sources at high energy use factor with power not only higher but also lower than rated value. 2 cl, 2 dwg
