FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves showing light flickers of increased and reduced frequency when compared to the initial one, in turn under constant exposure time in the range of 0.5-1.5 s. The light flickers of continuously increasing increment frequency at the given constant rate of 0.5 Hz/s and continuously reducing decremental frequency at the same rate at the first stage until the testee determines difference of shown frequencies and fixes the last shown frequencies. Then light flickers of fixed frequencies are shown to the testee in turn. The light flickers of continuously reducing incremental frequency at constant rate of 0.25 Hz/s and continuously increasing decremental frequency at the same rate at the second stage until the testee determines that the flickers do not differ. Then the last fixed frequencies are shown to the testee in turn. Sequences of alternating flickers having discretely increasing incremental frequency with constant increment of 0.1 Hz at the beginning of each sequence and discretely reducing decremental frequency at the same rate are shown to the testee at the third stage until the testee determines flicker discrimination threshold on incremental and decremental frequencies and fixes the last shown frequencies. Vision resolution is determined as difference in frequency between the incremental and decremental cases recorded at the third stage. EFFECT: high accuracy of measurements. 2 dwg
