FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to medicine, namely, to ophthalmology. The subject is exposed to light flicking. During the first stage of measurements the subject is exposed to the sequence of alternating light flicking with discretely increasing incremental frequency at the onset of every sequence with preset constant fixed pitch of 0.5 Hz and discretely decreasing at the onset of every sequence with the same fixed pitch decremental frequency until the subject detects difference between the presented frequencies and registers the last presented frequencies. On the second stage of measurements the subject is exposed to the sequences of alternating light flickings with discretely decreasing at the onset of every series with preset constant pitch of 0.1 Hz incremental frequency and discretely increasing at the onset of every series with the same pitch decremental frequency until the subject detects, that the presented frequencies do not differ and fixes the last presented frequencies. Visual resolution ΔF in Hz is calculated from the expression:
where Ti and Td - periods of light flicking in ms, corresponding to incremental and decremental frequencies registered during the second stage of measurements.
EFFECT: method decreases random component of measurements error and increases accuracy of detection of visual resolution by the frequency of light flicking.
