METHOD FOR DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSTICS OF NEUROMOTOR APPARATUS LESION IN PATIENTS WITH INFANTIL CEREBRAL PARALYSIS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2209588 C2

FIELD: medicine, neurology. SUBSTANCE: the present innovation is suggested to widen possibilities for electromyographic diagnostics of character and severity of neuromotor apparatus lesions in 1-year-aged children and patients with disorders in development of psychovocal functions. One should register amplitudes of 10 successive reflector contraction of m. rectus and m. adductor longus of ipsilateral and contralateral limbs obtained at mechanic stimulation of crossed kneeadductor T-reflex. Then one should calculate values of their average amplitudes and lateralization coefficients for m. rectus et m. adductor longus by the following formula: Clat = (AK/Ai)×100%, where Clat - lateralization coefficient, AK - average T-reflex amplitude of contralateral limb, Ai - average T- reflex amplitude of ipsilateral limb, and at Clat for m. rectus = 20-30% one should register moderate increase of muscular tonicity in inferior limbs, at Clat being above 30% - pronounced spastics, at Clat being below 15% - muscular hypotonicity; for m. adductor longus: Clat = 100-200% indicates moderate muscular hypertonicity, Clat being above 200% illustrates pronounced spastics, and at muscular hypotonicity syndrome one may observe the tendency for Clat decrease to be below 70%. The suggested method enables objectively, quantitatively evaluate the character and manifestation degree in disorders of muscular tonicity and reflector reactions at pathology of segmentary and suprasegmentary structures and control therapy efficiency, as well. EFFECT: higher efficiency of diagnostics. 3 ex
