SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology, and can be used to assess the risk of adverse outcome in children with peripheral paresis. The level of matrix metalloproteinase I (ng/ml) in the blood serum is determined and an electromyographic study of the muscles on the side of the lesion is carried out. The survey is carried out twice with an interval of a month. With a decrease in the level of matrix metalloproteinase I (ng/ml) in the second study by more than 7% and in the absence of recovery of the electromyographic activity of the muscles on the side of the lesion, a high risk of an adverse outcome in the treatment of paresis in a child is revealed. Otherwise, the prognosis is favorable.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to predict the risk of an unfavorable outcome in the treatment of a child with peripheral paresis by studying the monthly dynamics of the results of treatment - determining the level of matrix metalloproteinase I in the blood serum and conducting an electromyographic study of the muscles on the side of the lesion, which will allow changing the treatment regimen or making decisions on plastic reconstructive surgery on the nerve trunk.
