FIELD: medicine, orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: one should obtain frontal and axial scanograms and according to frontal scanogram it is possible to determine caput femoris center of affected joint and scanning levels corresponding to caput's center (A) and inferior edge of cotyloid cavity (B), axial scanograms are chosen corresponding to A and B levels and applied upon each other, then caput femoris center (Y) is determined, through U-shaped cartilages, caput's center Y and anterior edge of cotyloid cavity one should direct three parallel straight lines, find out the place of hypothetical caput's location after descending, moreover, its center Y2 is on straight line passing through the edge of cotyloid cavity, out of point Y2 one should make perpendicular which crosses the line passing through Y in point Y1, moreover, the distance Y1Y2 corresponds to the value of necessary caput's replacement to the front, femoral installation in hip joint before descending in sagittal plane corresponds to angle α value calculated by the following formula: tgα = Y1Y2:AB, and value for necessary descending by the formula: EFFECT: higher accuracy of tomographic testing. 10 dwg, 1 ex
