METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF CHRONIC OSTEOMYELITIS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, orthopedics, traumatology. SUBSTANCE: one should carry out 3-4-fold osteoperforation at interval of 7-10 d in lesion focus at impulse-periodic mode with laser supplied with light guide. Osteoperforation is fulfilled as follows: puncture of soft tissues is conducted up to bone with needle. Laser light guide is introduced into needle's cavity. Laser osteoperforation is performed in projection of osseous destruction foci. After every cycle of osteoperforation one should carry out laser thermotherapy in bone marrow channel. In peculiar case, for laser thermotherapy one should apply the same laser with light guide, moreover, treatment passes in continuous mode at 1-5 W power and 30-180 sec duration.
