FIELD: machine engineering, namely gas-shield welding of steel parts with thickness up to 10 mm at any spatial position. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing (before welding) belt with activating flux onto surface of edges of welded parts and performing gas-shield welding; making said belt of material neutral relative to welded material and forming it in the form of hollow cord whose cavity is filled with activating flux. It is possible to make belt in the form of hollow cord with oval, round or rectangular cross section. At shaping hollow cord belt edges are folded and pressed one to another. It is possible to mutually cement edges of belt forming lengthwise stripe. EFFECT: enhanced quality of welded joints, increased efficiency of process of assembling parts, lowered consumption of activating flux. 4 cl, 1 dwg, 1 ex
