GENUINE LEATHER FINISHING METHOD Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: leather industry. SUBSTANCE: semifinished product from bovine hide is subjected to drying and double staking with intermediate additional drying. Then hide is moistened, flesh side of hide is covered by grease emulsion, hide is subjected to layout in drum and stretched on frame dryer. Dried hide is covered with pigment ground after preliminary pressing and double coverage with cover paint involving intermediate pressing. Cover paint contains pigment concentrate, liquid dye, polymeric film formers, additives, and water. Coating is fixed and contrast cover paint is applied. After subsequent pressing, ethyl alcohol is applied onto coating. After that coating is fixed, pressed with smooth plate, fixed once more, and pressed. Thus obtained leather can be used in manufacture of leathers for upper, clothes, and fancy leather ware with multicolor decorative finishing. EFFECT: enlarged assortment of various-destination leathers. 1 tbl, 5 ex
