FIELD: electric communication, facilities for automatic control over technical condition of wire communication channels. SUBSTANCE: given invention can be employed in telecommunication systems for collection of statistics on types of utilization factor of subscriber's sections of telephone networks. Facility detecting signals of exchange between means of document communication has unit matching with communication channel, first, second and third units computing absolute values, first, second and third integration links, unit computing relations, resonance filter, band-pass filter, first, second and third threshold elements, logic AND gate, decision making unit and controlling timer. Operation of proposed facility is based on evaluation of three information statistics utilized in process of identification and extraction of signals of exchange between means of document communication. Estimates of signal power in frequency band of tone signals, ratio of power of signal in entire frequency band of communication channel to power of signals in band of tone signals and power of signal in band of exchange of low-speed tuning information are used in the capacity of information statistics.
