FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of metal pouring articles, particularly, sliding gate plates. According to invention, refractory component is prepared by combined grinding of synthetic corundum, silicon and graphite taken in ratio of (40-80):(10- 30):(10-30). Then molding mixture in prepared containing grainy filler-synthetic corundum, refractory component and temporary binder. Then article is molded, dried and subjected to roasting. Combined fine grinding of synthetic corundum, graphite and silicon of refractory component provides dense finely dispersed pore structure of corundum-mullite-carbide- silicon binder strongly binding corundum matrix.
