FIELD: metallurgy, continuous casting of ingots, casting shapes of light alloys based on aluminum. SUBSTANCE: technical result of invention consists in enhanced ductility and resistance to crack formation of cast aluminum alloys and in increased quality of articles made of them. Process of modification of aluminum alloys includes injection of alloying additions into melt flow, ultrasonic treatment of melt flow on way to mould under condition of developed cavitation. Alloying additions are injected into melt flow in zone of ultrasonic treatment of melt. Alloy of system Al-Ti-B, Al-Ti-C is utilized in the capacity of alloying additions. Alloying additions are brought into melt flow in the form of foundry alloy stick. Melt in zone of ultrasonic treatment is additionally stirred by imposition of electromagnetic field.
