FIELD: pulp-and-paper industry. SUBSTANCE: method includes tangential supply of fibrous suspension flow to conical chambers of vortex conical cleaners for producing of layer vortex sheering suspension flows rotating round axes of their chambers; separation of fibrous material under effect of centrifugal and hydrodynamic forces onto short-fibered and long-fibered fraction with simultaneous final fine cleaning of short-fibered fraction from polluting inclusions with specific density of not less than that of fiber. Prior to tangential supply of fibrous suspension to vortex conical cleaners, it is treated at pressure of 280-450 kPa in suspension sheer flow moving in channel of pipeline with velocity of at least 6.0 m/s and velocity gradient of not less than 850 s-1. Duration of treatment is not less than that calculated by formula where ti is duration of fibrous suspension treatment with concrete value i of fiber fraction of total mass in suspension in sheer flow, s; 57 is coefficient; R is radius of pipeline internal channel, mm; /C/ is dimensionless coefficient equaling absolute value of fiber fraction of total mass in suspension; V is velocity of sheer flow in pipeline channel, m/s. The most effective treatment of fibrous suspension in sheer flow is carried out at fraction of total mass of fiber in suspension of 1.0-2.0%. Plant of vortex conical cleaners has two versions of design.
