FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment designed for operation of metallurgical ladles. Proposed heat-insulating cover consists of metal skeleton and lining. Skeleton is made of ribbed sheet with slots. Ring flange is found on sheet perimeter being provided with guide gusset plates. Lining is secured on skeleton by means of T- shaped plates placed between layers of lining. Plates are secured in slots of skeleton. Linings, in its central part, is made of rectangular refractory blocks, and on periphery, in form of parts of segments. Metal sheet of skeleton is provided with stiffening ribs. Shield is secured on guide gusset plates. With ladle covered, gusset plates slide along side surface of ladle wall which prevents cocking of cover even if ladle skull is present. Under action of cover weight, fibrous lining compresses providing reliable sealing of joint between cover and ladle. EFFECT: reduced heat losses at transportation and casting. 8 cl, 4 dwg
