FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and can be used for containers with liquid metal. The cover of the tundish contains a supporting metal power frame formed by a sheet base (1) with transverse (2) and longitudinal (3) amplifiers. From below, metal Y-shaped anchors (4) evenly distributed over its area are welded to the sheet base. A metal shell (5) is welded along the perimeter of the sheet base. In the inner space of the cover, limited by the shell, there is a two-layer refractory-heat-insulating lining, consisting of a layer (6) of lightweight heat-insulating refractory material and a layer (7) of monolithic refractory concrete.
EFFECT: increased service life of the tundish cover due to exclusion of the refractory protective part from the load-bearing frame of the cover and reduction of the heating temperature of the load-bearing frame from the metal surface due to the combined refractory-heat-insulating layer.
