SUBSTANCE: the machine has a frame formed by longitudinal beams coupled by cross-members and having longitudinal guides, carriage mounted on the frame for longitudinal motion and consisting of longitudinal beams with wheels engageable with the guides of the frame beams, and a gantry consisting of vertical posts. The lower ends of the posts are fastened on the longitudinal beams of the carriage, and the upper ends are interconnected by a cross-member, specular guide rods are fastened on the posts, a cross-piece is mounted on the rods for vertical motion, the cross-piece carries the sawing member formed by a band saw stretched on the driven pulley, and the drive pulley actuated by a power unit, having an internal combustion engine, mechanism of cross-member vertical motion and a device for installation of the log to be worked. Each pulley is made with a circumferential bearing surface with a circular ridge located in its middle part, the ridge separates the surface into two sections, one saw blade is stretched on the first of which, the teeth of the blade face the end of the log to be sawn in the initial position, and the other saw blade is stretched on the second section, its teeth face the opposite side.
