SPILLWAY STRUCTURE ON ROCK BED Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: hydraulic engineering, construction of multispan spillway structures on rock bed. SUBSTANCE: spillway structure includes spillway, toe basin and pump station. Toe basin is formed by bottom and side and apron walls with cantilevers by bed. Feet of spillway and walls of toe basin are embedded in bed beneath design position of unfixed rock bottom. Bases under internal cantilevers of walls are fixed by pressure grouting and abovementioned cantilevers are anchored to them. Apron wall on side of toe basin is concave in plan and it has bottom water conduit to remove abrasive material from toe basin. Guarding walls of toe basin of spillway structure show increased stability even unfixed in rock bed of toe basin which diminishes usage of materials for its construction.
