FIELD: environmental safety control. SUBSTANCE: following characteristics are determined: carbon monoxide content and summary hydrocarbon content, after which environmental safety is estimated from following formulas. Carbon monoxide content Y1 = 2.82-0.28X1- 0.0031X3-0.026X4- 0.00059X5-0.071X6+0.0032X7+0.31X8 and summary hydrocarbon content Y2 = 2.88- 0.30X1+0.88X2-0.0024X3-0.029X4+0.0045X7+0.44X8, where X1 is octane number (motor method), X2 lead concentration, X3 average boiling temperature, X4 residue plus losses, saturated vapor pressure at 38 C, X6 acidity, X7 concentration of actual resins, and X8 weight portion of sulfur. Environmental safety is estimated as complex toxicity characteristic T, which is calculated in terms of following equation: , wherein 2 and 0.04 designate maximum allowable concentrations of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons, respectively, in exhaust gases of gasoline engine.
