FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion piston engines used os power units in all types of transport, namely, road, air, railway and sea and river vehicles and in agricultural and construction machines, power stations, motorcycles, oil and gas industries and other civil and military branches of industry round the world. Invention makes it possible4 to create ecologically clean multifuel engine featuring high specific power output and low specific fuel consumption of fuel without limitation of its knocking resistance and cetane rating. It contains piston-type double-acting air supercharger providing delivery of air into combustion chamber at all stroke of operating cycle. Piston of air supercharger is arranged coaxially with working piston in common cylinder and is rigidly connected with working piston by rod. At end of compression stroke fuel is injected into engine, at no limitations as to knocking resistance and cetane rating, with formation of rich fuel-air mixture which is ignited by spark plug and is combusted completely without knocking and forming toxic gases at constant delivery of compressed air into combustion chamber.
