FIELD: chemistry of fuels, timely detection of lead in gasoline in factory laboratories of petroleum refining industry, at oil tank farms and refueling stations. SUBSTANCE: procedure detecting lead in gasoline includes sampling, burning of sample, dissolution of combustion products in acetate buffer with pH= 4.8-5.2, application of obtained solution on filter paper impregnated with indicator in the form of 0.01 % solution of dithizone in ethanol and registration of change of color of indicator. EFFECT: increased reliability of detection of lead in gasoline. 3 tbl
