FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves placing a drop of blood serum under examination on microscope slide surface and covering with cover glass. The preparation is hold under constant ambient conditions until marked typical structures become observable on the slide. The optical polarization examination of the preparation is carried out by inspecting the whole sample surface. Large quantities of liquid crystal lines, separate needle-like or platelike crystals, confocal domains, non-double-refraction dendrites being detected on the slide, no cholangitis is to diagnosed. Significant increase in needle-like or plate-like crystals, confocal domains, non-double-refraction dendrites when compared to reference values and skeletal and thin dendrites, spherulites and spherodendrites, middle- and large-size forms, lipid drops and atypical forms being detected on the slide, cholangitis is to be diagnosed. EFFECT: high sensitivity of the method.
