FIELD: communications engineering. SUBSTANCE: cellular network has plurality of mobile stations and plurality of base stations. Base stations are disposed so that each of them has effective coverage band which is not overlapped by those of adjacent base stations. In this way there are reduced coverage bands between base stations. When sending station residing beyond effective coverage band of particular base station has to send message to this station, this message is relayed by other mobile station to base station of destination. Relaying station can be disposed within effective coverage band or in reduced coverage band of base station of destination. Sending station, station of destination, and relaying station or all stations can be mobile stations disposed in reduced coverage band. Resources of reduced coverage bands, such as transmission power, transmission time intervals, and frequency channels, are used for reduction by effective division among stations. EFFECT: enhanced throughput capacity of base stations; enhanced life of mobile- station batteries. 11 cl, 8 dwg
