FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: separator has charging and discharge device and two coaxial cylindrical screens. Mellowers-separators with rod-type working surface are positioned on inner surface of screens. Rods of working surface are spaced from one another by distance equal to size of openings of respective screen. Inner and outer screens are positioned for rotation by means of drive in opposite directions and at different rotational speed, when needed. Mellowers-separators are positioned at an angle less than friction angle with respect to direction of rotation, and their rod-type surface provides fluffing and separation of heap during axial advancement. Separator of such construction may be used in machines for preliminary processing of grain or unwinnowed heap having increased content of non-grain components.
