FIELD: procedure of processing of minerals, in particular, diamonds. SUBSTANCE: the device has a vacuum chamber accommodating and a transducer of the gas analyzer. The source of protons generates a beam of protons with a current value of 3A, luminance of 10 to 20A (cm-mrad)2, diameter of the area with a similar current density of the beam within 30 to 60 mm. An accelerating electrode, gas-impermeable diaphragm separating the source of protons from the diamond under processing and made with a size and shape adjustable hole covered with gas-impermeable film passing a beam of accelerated protons and a decelerating electrode are installed in succession between the source of protons and the diamond under processing in the vacuum chamber. EFFECT: accelerated processing of the diamond surface and enhanced finishing of it. 1 dwg
