SUBSTANCE: method involves treating catgut thread with 35% aqueous solution of polysulfonylpyrrolidonium chloride, drying and treating with 8% aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol and then repeatedly drying. When creating gastroenteric anastomosis with two-rowed suture, the first row of sutures is stitched with catgut treated according to the abovementioned method.
