METHOD OF WARMING-UP OF HYDRATE-PARAFFIN PLUGS IN OIL AND GAS WELLS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas producing industry; applicable in elimination of hydrate-paraffin plugs in oil and gas wells. SUBSTANCE: method includes replacement of faceplate on well with eccentric faceplate having vertical process hole without lifting of tubing. Replacement is effected by disconnection of polished rod from cable- type hanger, rigid gripping of branch pipe internal walls of tubing string for relieving faceplate load and suspending of tubing string and fixation of faceplate in upper position by means of clamp. For temporary suspension of tubing string, for period of replacement of unscrewed faceplate with eccentric faceplate, use is made of diassembled auxiliary faceplate. Brought to under unscrewed faceplate is auxiliary faceplate, by its parts: body from one side, and removable plate fastened to body, from the other side. Auxiliary faceplate is assembled and installed on branch pipe of tubing string. Unscrewed faceplate is removed. Eccentric faceplate is installed on upper flange of Christmas tree cross-member, and heater is introduced into process hole of faceplate an upper flange of Christmas tree cross-member. Heater is lowered to space between casing string and tubing string, and hole in plug of annular space is burnt- through. Working agent is pumped through made hole in plug until its full elimination. EFFECT: reduced material and technical expenditures in jobs involved in warming-up of hydrate-paraffin plugs in oil and gas wells whose tubing string contains rods or foreign objects. 9 cl
