FIELD: cooling equipment for cooling of reused water in power stations and industrial enterprises. SUBSTANCE: cooling tower has enclosure with airway made in enclosure side. Incorporating in casing are water trap, sprinkler, water distribution device with spraying nozzles, fan connected with airway, water sump having water removal pipe and air stream deflector with all mentioned components being arranged in layer-by-layer. Nozzles form up-directed spray. Fan is surrounded by cylindrical shell coaxial with fan rotational axis. Air stream deflector is disposed beyond cylindrical shell end such that inclination angle of shell with respect to its longitudinal axis can vary. Cooling tower additionally has screw-type belts arranged coaxially with respect to tower vertical axis over deflector. Spiral traps having receiving pockets are connected to deflector surface and to screw-type belts and face towards ascending air flow. Spiral traps are arranged in staggered rows or in corridor rows. EFFECT: enhanced cooling performance by means of increased gas-and-droplet flow turbulence and its uniform cross-sectional distribution due to creating active vortex microcirculation on deflector as well as in total working volume. 4 cl, 3 dwg
