FIELD: early ice detection, prediction of wire dancing, and selection of ice melting intervals on overhead power transmission lines. SUBSTANCE: proposed device that can be used on disconnected wires carrying light load to simultaneously measure and monitor ice and wind loads and also wind direction has magnetoelastic force sensors suspended between suspension-tower cross-arm and insulator strings with phase conductors; first insulator string is secured to tower on both ends, second string, on one end, and third one, on opposite end with aid of hinged insulating braces; these force sensors function to check, respectively, ice load, full load with wind direction on one side, and full load with wind direction on other side. Paired connection of first and second as well as first and third magnetoelastic sensors to three telemetering channels incorporating measuring instruments through nonlinear transducers and first sensor, directly to these channels provides for measuring wind load at wind direction from left to right across line by first of these channels, wind load at wind direction from right to left, by second channel , and ice load only, by third channel. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 1 cl, 3 dwg
