FIELD: mining industry; applicable in building-up of opencast non-mining flank in period of completion of operations with formation of high benches (45-70m). SUBSTANCE: method includes construction in adjacent levels of intersecting horizontal safety berms and spiral haulage berm. Platforms of intersection of steeply dipping safety berms with spiral haulage berm and occupying width equaling width of spiral haulage berm are located at depth from overlying level equaling 1/3 height of working bench, and sections of horizontal safety berms of last and but last levels from opencast bottom which are nonintersecting with spiral haulage berm are interconnected by construction of steeply dipping safety berm. EFFECT: higher efficiency of work involved in mining of deep opencasts due to increase of angle of inclination of opencast non-mining flank. 5 dwg, 3 tbl
