METHOD OF BUILDING UP OF OPENCAST NONMINING FLANK Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: mining: applicable in building up of opencast nonmining flanks under conditions of permafrost rocks, mainly in period of opencast completion with formation of superhigh benches with height of 60 to 120 m. SUBSTANCE: method includes construction of haulage berms with protecting structures with trapping hollows located on them. Protecting structures are made in form of successively arranged over contour of slope of haulage berm and separated by trapping platforms separate berms in form of truncated prisms whose rectangular face and side planes adjacent to bench slope. Separate protecting berms over entire length of haulage berm are formed by horizons, in stepped sections with distance in vertical between adjacent sections equaling the height of working bench. EFFECT: higher safety of mining operations with reduced expenditures for their accomplishment, expenditures for flank building-up due to reduced use of mining equipment and reduced labor input in removal of cliff debris. 2 cl, 6 dwg
