FIELD: mining industry; applicable in mineral opencast mining for building-up of opencast nonmining flank under conditions of permafrost rocks. SUBSTANCE: method includes construction of parallel haulage and safety berms in oncoming direction with division of opencast field into two parts. In one part of opencast field, construction of parallel haulage and safety berms is effected to final depth of opencast with formation of nonmining flank by opencast operation, and in the other part, down to not in excess of 4/5 of opencast final depth with formation of nonmining flank with height of at least, 1/5 of opencast final depth from underground workings driven from side of temporary flank up to contact of are body with enclosing rocks. Formed on boundary of opencast field division is temporary flank having haulage berms connecting underground workings and main haulage berms of opencast field parts. Realization of claimed method makes it possible to obtain uniformly stable profile of opencast nonmining flank of cissuid shape to provide for efficiency and safety of work in mining of deep opencasts under conditions of permafrost rocks and to increase general angle of inclination of opencast flanks, and to reduce volume of overburden rocks within opencast contours, and to increase limit depth of opencast operations.
