FIELD: rocketry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pump building, namely to centrifugal pumps for system delivering cryogenic components of liquid-propellant rocket propulsion plants. Method of starting the pump with relief space communicating through relief channels with pump inlet comes to filling, spinning up and pumping of component through passage part, auxiliary ducts and relief space with subsequent return of component from relief space to pump inlet. When filling and spinning of pump all component is directed through passage area of pump, its relief space and auxiliary ducts, and return of component from relief space to pump inlet is provided when pump acquires nominal speed. Single-action valve is installed in each relief channel, or pump is furnished with common single-action valve for all relief channels. EFFECT: improved reliability and economy at starting. 4 cl, 1 dwg
