FIELD: machine building and aircraft industries; applicable in manufacture of wrought semifinished products from magnesium alloys. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating of casting block, step deformation and air cooling. Casting block is heated before each step of step deformation. Step deformation of casting block is carried out with total degree of reduction of 94.0-99.5%, and after air cooling, casting block is finally heated up to 370-420C under isothermic conditions, and final deformation is carried at strain rate of 1•10-4-2•10-2s-1. Heating of casting block before each step of step deformation is effected up to temperature of 280-420C. Product manufactured by claimed method of step deformation of magnesium alloys is also offered. EFFECT: higher level of yield paint and reduced anisotropy of strength properties of wrought semifinished products of magnesium alloys and also products manufactured from them with preserved ultimate strength. 3 cl, 1 tbl, 1 ex
