FIELD: aluminum alloy metallurgy, may be used in manufacture of construction materials for main power components of aircraft frames, rocket equipment, transport and instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: method involves quenching and three-staged aging including first and third stages of high-temperature heating at temperature of 100-1400C and second stage high-temperature heating at temperature of 170-2100C; before first stage, providing preliminary plastic deformation by tightening at tightening extent of 0.8-2.5% and, before third stage, providing final plastic deformation at tightening extent of 0.5-1.5%. In particular versions of invention, cooling at cooling rate v of > 10C is performed after second thermal processing stage. Method allows elongated articles to be produced from specifically strong Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy system, in particular, alloy system comprising admixture such as Zr. Such article exhibits minimal warp after quenching and thermal processing.
EFFECT: stabilized dimensions and improved strength and corrosion resistance characteristics of articles produced by method.
