FIELD: geophysical methods of search and prospecting for mineral wealth. SUBSTANCE: method can be employed to establish parameters of geological section and bring to light local inhomogeneities. According to invention geological section is excited by sounding signal and electromagnetic response to sounding signal is recorded by system of receiving dipole pickups of electromagnetic field. Pickups are positioned on surface of sounded zone of geological section with coordinate referencing relative to radiator of sounding signal in circle with diameter not less than sounding depth zf in the form of two-dimensional lattice with spacing h≤zf along and sideways to direction of orientation of one horizontal component of electric field in examined sounded zone. Pickups are oriented in parallel with direction of horizontal component of electromagnetic field. Electromagnetic response to sounding signal is received by all pickups at the same rate. Received signals are disintegrated into frequency spectra, which spectral components are multiplied by weight coefficients obtained from proper expression. Multiplied values of individual spectral components from all dipole pickups are summed up algebraically and resulting spectrum of entire system is obtained. Then inverse Fourier transform of this spectrum is carried out which is resulting signal of electromagnetic response of entire system of receiving dipole pickups of electromagnetic field. This signal is used to make decision on structure of geological section. EFFECT: raised resolution of reception of electromagnetic response on ground surface by receiving dipole pickups of electromagnetic field in process of electromagnetic sounding of geological section. 4 dwg
