FIELD: water samplers. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for taking samples of water and suspensions from upper layers of sea area and is adapted for dropping from aircraft. Proposed self-contained sampler has housing sealed in upper part accommodating flexible hollow rod with shank- stabilizer and samplers in form of fabric envelopes. Housing is provided with through holes in its lower part, convex bottom and profiled float collar mechanically coupled with housing by means of spring-loaded ball supports. Housing is essentially thin- walled cylinder with samplers installed in housing and furnished with cylindrical cups with longitudinally cut walls and separate bottom installed for relative displacement. Fabric envelopes in form truncated cones are placed inside each cup. Spiral spring compressed in horizontal plane is installed in upper part of each cup from inner side of its wall. Said spring is connected to upper part of fabric envelope whose lower part is connected to bottom of cup. Bottom of sampler is made in form of monolithic perforated hemisphere whose inner space is closed by cover. Shank-stabilizer is made in form of radar corner reflector mechanically coupled with rod by ball joint. Proposed sampler provides automation of sample taking process and reliability of device at striking water, possibility of remote detection of floating sampler by optical and radar means, effective holding of suspension particles at rough sea and flows.
