FIELD: electrical engineering; electric drives using dc commutator motors. SUBSTANCE: over-temperature protective device has electric motor, current sensor, voltage regulator, integration unit, and threshold element. Electric motor and current sensor are interconnected in series and connected to supply mains through voltage regulator. Integration unit input is connected to bias signal source and its output, to voltage-regulator protection input via threshold element. Newly introduced in device are motor zero speed sensor and controlled voltage divider connected to current sensor and to integration unit; control input of voltage divider is connected to motor zero-speed sensor.
