METHOD FOR FORMING FLEXIBLE BANDAGE IN TREATING VARICOSE VEINS OF LOWER EXTREMITIES Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2214810 C1

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves creating flexible compressive bandage composed of two compression layers. The first layer has flexible bandage of high extensibility serving for compressing and fixing latex and porolon cushions at the injection places to cause local compression varicose nodes. Flexible stocking with open foot part is put on over the bandage. It contributes to optimum compression level applied to patient extremity lying in horizontal position. The second external layer is flexible bandage of moderate extensibility level. It is applied to patient extremity over the first one beginning from toe bases to the upper one third of the femur. It contributes to optimum compression level applied to patient extremity when standing in vertical position. The patient is allowed to independently release or take off the bandage when going to bed and taking essentially horizontal position. It is allowed to wash and rub the foot with wet towel as well as change the bandage for a fresh one. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; supported uniform compression state both in standing position when walking and lying position when sleeping.
