FIELD: chemical industry; manufacture of rectifying and absorption columns for handling highly corrosive media. SUBSTANCE: proposed column-type apparatus has housing made from side-beams with bearing rings pressed between their bases; plates are supported by these rings by means of elastic sealing member received by circular bore found in lower surface of plate edge; it has section in form of inverted trapezium. Mounted at expansion clearance on bottom of column and on base of each plate (but for upper one) are vertical supports. Additional elastic seal is placed in space between peripheral surface of plate and inner surface of side-beam. Central supports are provided with retainers for axial alignment of plates. Base of plate is made in form of dome at convexity of 0.8 to 1.2% of plate diameter. Inner cavity of apparatus including plates, caps, overflow pipes and other members , as well as supply branch pipes are made from fluoroplastic or similar material. Such construction ensures reliable operation of apparatus having diameter of 2000 mm and more for treatment of highly corrosive materials. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 4 cl, 4 dwg
